Back on the Boundless Creative Path

2022 has been a wonderful, wild ride for me. I've had a lot of awesome opportunities--

moving halfway across the country, meeting wonderfully talented artists and mentors, getting to work with all sorts of brands on creative content... This month I even got to meet some Marvel recruiters!

But much of the year I had to put my passion projects on hold. Daughters of Grimm, my fairytale web comic, has been on hiatus for over a year now. It's crazy to think it's been that long.

I'd thought I'd get to a stable point where I could easily make time for my story around a 9 to 5 creative gig. But life isn't that predictable and I'm tired of waiting. No time will be the perfect time.

So....

I'm participating in NaNoWriMo 2022!

I've never done a writing challenge before. My writing habits in the past have averaged around 500 words a day. I have no idea how it's going to go. BUT even if it's a sloppy mess, I'm determined to have a Daughters of Grimmm: First Arc draft done by December 1st. 50,000 words...

If that's not enough, I really want to blog about it along the way. 1,667 words a day, plus a weekly blog post. Can I do it? We shall see. But I've come to learn that even failure is progress. I'll have a partial manuscript. I'll have at least a couple blog posts. And things will only get better from there.

Why don't you join me? Do you have a passion project you're putting off? Or maybe you just want to see the creative struggle in motion. Comment what you're up to and we'll take the journey together!
